Enyimba have confirmed that midfielder Dayo Ojo has been released by his abductors after four days in captivity.
“Great big news! Our midfielder Dayo Ojo has regained freedom from his kidnappers,” tweeted Enyimba.
Abia Comets player Benjamin Iluyomade was also released.

Enyimba said their “combined efforts” and that of the players’ families caused the release, but did not disclose whether or not a ransom was paid before the players were released.
The players were abducted Sunday around Ipele Town on the Benin–Akure Expressway on their way to Akure.
The kidnappers initially asked for a ransom of 100 million Naira before they demanded for 20 million Naira.
