Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi has described Bursaspor’s 1-0 away win against Akhisar Belediyespor in the Turkish second division on Friday as massive in their push for promotion to the top flight, Completesports.com reports.
Abdullahi made his 19th league appearance for 10-man Bursaspor in the big win.
Yevgen Seleznov was the hero for Bursaspor as his 57th minute goal helped his side move up the table.
The win took Bursaspor’s points tally to 33, four points behind leaders Hatayspor and they occupy one of the two automatic promotion spots.
And reacting to the win, Abdullahi wrote on his Twitter handle: “Massive win at Akhisar Belediyespor, we move to second position. We keep fighting for Bursa badge.”
Bursaspor will hope to continue their push for promotion to the top flight when they host Eskisehirspor next Sunday.
