Tyson Fury insists he will ‘school’ Deontay Wilder when the pair meet for the second time in February.
The WBC champion ensured his passage to a rematch with Fury remained unscathed by beating Luis Ortiz in the seventh round at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening.
It was a frankly devastating finish from Wilder, who barely landed a single punch and was trailing 6-0 on the scorecards before he unleashed a monstrous right hand which sealed the deal.
The American has been lauded following his win, with many labelling him the most ‘dangerous man on the planet’.
Fury, though, isn’t fazed by Wilder’s display and has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts.
“Wilder has nothing more than a punchers chance vs me, I’m gonna school even more than the first fight #BUMCITY,” he tweeted.
Fans loved the response and also went wild when Wilder confirmed the Fury bout after his win on Saturday.
“Next we have Tyson Fury in the rematch,” he said.
“Then I want unification. I want one champion, one face and one heavyweight champion – Deontay Wilder.”
Wilder wants to face the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz next year for the chance to unify the division.
Fury’s trainer Ben Davison was in attendance on Saturday night.
But he isn’t scared either ahead of the rematch.
“I’ve said before, Luis Ortiz is a fantastic fighter but he’s not Tyson Fury,” Davison told Sky Sports after the fight.
“I also learned that he was a different man fight week to what he was to when he fought Tyson.”
