New NPFL season To Kick-Off August 31

The 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season will kick-off on Saturday, August 31, reports Completesports.com.

NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye announced the date on the body’s X account.

It remain to be seen if the NPFL will stick to the kick-off date.

The 2023/24 season ended last weekend with Enugu Rangers claiming the coveted title and N150m prize money.

The Flying Antelopes claimed the NPFL title for the eighth time with Remo Stars and Enyimba finishing in second and third positions respectively.

Rangers and Remo Stars will play in the CAF Champions League next season, while Enyimba will represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Four clubs; Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland and Gombe United were relegated to the Nigeria National League.

Nasarawa United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits have been promoted to the NPFL.
