Falconets midfielder Taiwo Afolabi has expressed gladness after winning the Woman of the Match award in the Falconets game with Burkina Faso at the 2023 U-20 WAFU B Women’s tournament.
The Falconets overcame Burkina Faso 3-0 on Sunday at the Paa Joe Stadium.
Esther Ajakaye scored a brace in the encounter and Fluorish Sabastine scored the third.
Afolabi raved about the award on Twitter.
“I’m happy to win the Woman of the Match Award in the encounter against Burkina Faso, this a huge step in my career and a notable award I will cherish Alhamdulilah Thank you God,” she wrote.
The Falconets top Group B with nine points after three games.
