Former Nigerian winger, Tijani Babangida has revealed that the Super Eagles were unlucky against Guinea-Bissau despite playing good football in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Recall that Nigeria suffered their first defeat of the AFCON 2023 qualifying campaign after Guinea-Bissau picked up a stunning 1-0 win at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
A lone goal by Mama Samba Balde in the first half proved to be the decisive moment of the game despite Nigeria’s best efforts to salvage at least a point.
With the reverse fixture set for next week Monday, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Completesports.com that the team played quality football but were unlucky to score against Guinea-Bissau.
“Yes I was not happy that the Super Eagles lost 1-0 to Guinea-Bissau despite the team playing good football.
How
“I am really impressed with the performance of the players and I hope they will get the job done in the reverse fixture in order to remain atop of the group.”
