Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has denied reports circulating in the social media that he has plans to leave Stamford Bridge.
The versatile defender is in and out of the first team at present, but is hoping for more game time under new boss Graham Potter.
Chalobah was speaking after his side’s routine win in the Champions League group stages over AC Milan.
“I am at Chelsea, this is my club,” he stated.
“Every time I get the chance I want to show the manager that I am good enough to play. Any chance I get I need to do my best and let the manager decide. [Potter] said I have been training well so take it into the game. He knew I was ready and what I could do.
“Playing at a big club like Chelsea, you’ve got to be ready. If you are not playing you need to know what you need to do better. It starts in training. I’ve been ready for a couple of games now and I got my chance today and hopefully, I can take it.
“I felt good stepping on the pitch today. It has been a long time but it felt good and I can’t wait for the next game.”
International career
He has represented England at youth level from Under-16 up to Under-20, captaining all four teams at various stages. In November 2014, Chalobah captained the England under-16 team against Scotland in the Victory Shield. In May 2016, Chalobah was captain of the England under-17 team that lost to Spain in the quarter-final of the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
Chalobah was included in the England under-19 squad for the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. An ankle injury sustained in the final group game against Germany ruled him out for the rest of the tournament. England went on to defeat Portugal in the final.
On 30 August 2019, Chalobah was included in the England U21 squad for the first time and made his debut during the 3–2 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying win against Turkey on 6 September 2019.
