Iwobi Ends 7-Game Goal Drought In Arsenal Win At Huddersfield; Liverpool Thump Bournemouth

Alex Iwobi ended his seven-game goal drought with the curtain-raiser in Arsenal 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.

The Nigeria international last scored a goal in the EPL in December when Arsenal beat Burnley 3-1

Iwobi has now had a hand in 11 goals (four goals and seven assists) so far this season, a feat he has surpassed since he started off at Arsenal.

He shot the Gunners into the lead after 16 minutes with a half volley and on the stroke of half time. Alexandre Lacazette doubled the lead with a simple tap in.

An own goal netted by Sead Kolasinac halved the deficit for Huddersfield Town.

At Anfield Liverpool returned to winning ways defeating Bournemouth 3-0.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah secured their first win in three games.

Liverpool are now top of the Premier League table with three points ahead of Manchester City who play Chelsea on Sunday.

At the Vicarage Road, Isaac Success was absent as Watford pipped Everton 1-0.

Andre Gray grabbed the winner in the 65th minute of the encounter.

Troy Deeney and Jose Holebas both saw yellow in the game.

At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 draw with West Ham United while Cardiff City fought back from a goal down to beat Southampton 2-1.
