Arsenal’s Martinelli Out Of Season With Knee injury

Arsenal have revealed that young striker Gabriel Martinelli is out of the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

The club disclosed this in a statement released on their official website on Friday, while giving update on their injured players.

Martinelli who has one of the outstanding players for the Gunners this season hurt his left knee during training on 21 June.

He underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure to repair a lesion in the cartilage of the affected knee. 

He will not be available for the current schedule of remaining 2019/20 matches.

Martinelli has scored 10 goals created four assists in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season.

The club revealed that new signing Cedric Soares is integrating back into full training following facial injury and a successful procedure has taken place and his aiming to be available for selection after this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Sheffield United.

Young left-back Kieran Tierney will be 
available for selection after suffering muscle cramps during Thursday night’s Premier League game against Southampton.

And concerning Lucas Torreira who sustained fracture to his right ankle aagainst Portsmouth on 2 March, the club said he is progressing well and aiming to return to full training in the forthcoming days.
