One major thing we’ve learnt from obsessively following Anthony Joshua on social media: He really, really loves video games. On Tuesday, he took the love up a notch by launching a five-a-aside football pitch to celebrate the newly-released FIFA 20.

According to Texas Post, Joshua carried out the project in partnership with EA Sports, the developers of the FIFA video game series. His intention is to support street football and help aspiring young footballers in East London to develop their skills.
Speaking about the project, which he named “the Lion’s Den”, he said:
“I grew up playing a lot of street football. I’d play at least eight hours with my friends every Sunday and it fostered a real sense of community.
I’m delighted to partner with EA Sports to celebrate small-sided football and make it more accessible to Londoners.”
In case you’re wondering, Joshua designed the pitch himself – and, judging from the fantastic job he did, the British-Nigerian boxer might need to start considering going into football pitch designs as a side hustle.
Right now, we’re anxiously expecting his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr., which comes up in about three months. After the fight, we hope he extends this project to his second home country, Nigeria.
