After joining Everton in 2017, Henry Onyekuru spent two years on loan at Anderlecht and Galatasaray. Now, it seems the Nigerian‘s loan days are over, as he has just joined French club, AS Monaco on a five-year deal.

Following his performance in Turkey, where he helped Galatasaray win the Süper Lig and the Turkish Cup, we were expecting Onyekuru to move back to Everton and start making his mark in the Premier League. However, he couldn’t secure a work permit in the UK.
Looking beyond the work permit disappointment, this is by far the best deal a player of his caliber would ever ask for. Everton didn’t mention how much the 22-year-old was signed for, but there are rumors that the transfer is worth a whopping €17 million (over N6.9 billion).
The last season was definitely a bad one for Monaco, as they finished just two points above the relegation zone. With 16 goals in 44 appearances for Galatasaray, Onyekuru could help the club steer clear of danger, and probably lift them into the top 10 by the end of this season.
