For as long as the 2018-19 Premier League season lasted, Wilfred Ndidi always ensured that Leicester City had a solid midfield. The Nigerian was such a vital part of the team that that football stats website, WhoScored, named him in the Premier League Young Team of the Season.

With a 7.22 rating, Ndidi was mentioned on the 11-man list as the best rated Leicester City player. The 22-year-old raked in the highest number of tackles this season, and he also pulled happened to pull off the third highest interceptions.

These feats helped him finish the season as the top tackler in the whole Premier League. With all the positive attention he gained for his consistently outstanding performance, Leicester City deservedly crowned him the club’s Young Player of the Season.

It’s even been said that a player of his caliber is meant for bigger clubs, and while we don’t know the direction this might push his interest in the future, we’re looking forward to seeing him repeat his midfield magic at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
