We weren’t just making things up when we said that Wilfred Ndidi is arguably the hottest midfielder in the Premier League right now. Football stats site, WhoScored, has just backed that up by rating Ndidi as the best Premier League player for the month of March.

The site looked at the performances in the league and allotted ratings to the top five players for the month. Ndidi received a 7.86 rating, which is the same as Wolves’ Romain Saïss, but the fact that the Nigerian made more appearances than the Moroccan means he takes the number one spot on the list.

In case you’re in doubt, there are receipts to back up the stats. Just last month, Ndidi made 28 tackles for Leicester City – that is at least 10 more tackles than any other player – and he also won 27 possessions, which is the third most by any midfielder in the Premier League.

Thankfully, it doesn’t look like the 22-year-old is slowing down anytime soon.
