I Won’t Return To Abuja Until Boko Haram Is Substantially Defeated – Buratai
The Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai has declared his interest to at this time remained in the Northeast and never return back to the federal capital territory, Abuja, until he, alongside his troops, substantially defeated Boko Haram insurgent in the region.
Naija News understands that Buratai vowed to remain with the theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole until he delivered the Northern region and the country at large from the hand of the terrorists.
Coronavirus: Six More Patients Discharged By Lagos State Government
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday confirmed that six more patients have been discharged from the Yaba COVID-19 treatment facility.
Governor Sanwo-Olu in a statement released via his official Twitter account disclosed the six patients had tested negative before they were discharged.
Our People Are Farmers, We Can’t Lockdown North – Northern Govs
The Northern States Governors’ Forum, following a meeting they held Monday, April 13, come to the conclusion that total lockdown would not work in their regions as most of the indigenes are farmers.
The meeting, which was conducted via teleconference by the governors to discuss the impact of coronavirus in the region suggests another measure to curb the spread of the global pandemic in the regions rather than declaring a total lockdown of its states.
COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 20 New Coronavirus Cases In Nigeria As Number Rises To 3434
Twenty new cases of the coronavirus infection have been confirmed on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC).
Confirming the cases on its official Twitter account on Monday evening, the NCDC disclosed the confirmed cases were in Lagos, Kano, Edo, Ogun and Ondo States.
Important Things President Buhari Said During The National Broadcast
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday evening addressed Nigerians on the lockdown imposed on Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Mr Buhari during the broadcast extended the lockdown in place by two extra weeks.
