The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has tested negative for the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) as confirmed by the result of a test carried out on him by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Naija News understands that the President was informed of the test outcome early this morning (Tuesday) in Abuja.
The test was carried out on President Buhari yesterday after his Chief of Staff, Mr. Abba Kyari tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, according to reports monitored on ThisDay.
It will be recalled Kyari had travelled to Germany on Saturday, March 7th to meet with officials of Siemens in Munich on the Nigerian electricity expansion programme.
He returned exactly one week later on Saturday, March 14th, but did not show any symptoms.
However, he reportedly started coughing on Sunday and subsequently voluntarily submitted himself for testing on Monday with the result returning positive.
Presidential sources disclosed Kyari has gone into isolation.
