The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an inquiry following the alleged strangulation of a ten-year-old boy named Israel Ogunleye by another ten-year-old, Evbota Ezekiel, in the Ejigbo district of the state on March 28th.
According to the police, the father of the deceased reported that his son was playing football with some boys at Oluwole Street, Powerline in Ejigbo where his mother’s shop is situated.
The bereaved father told the police that the boys had an argument and in the process, Emmanuel allegedly held his son by the neck and strangled him until he died.
Police authorities immediately moved to the scene of the incident where they found the boy’s body and immediately moved it to the General Hospital Isolo where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival. The body was then transferred to the mortuary where a post-mortem is expected to be done.
Confirming the incident to LIB, the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the matter is currently being investigated.
