He is to remain in prison custody, alongside Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, who are parents of the victim until Tuesday, July 11 when the case would come up for mention.

The court arraigned and remanded the trio on Monday on two-count charges of conspiracy and sexual abuse and exploitation.

The defendants’ plea was rejected by the Magistrate, P.O. Adetuyibi for want of jurisdiction, saying the case file had been filed and duplicated at the state Ministry of Justice, Ibadan.

Recall that the Oyo State Police Command had on Thursday last week, invited Trinity Guy in connection with a prank video that involved the 10-year-old girl.

“Popular content creator, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, AKA Trinity, has been contacted and invited to the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content making the rounds across the Social Media space concerning a female minor. Updates would be provided soon,” the command said in a tweet.

Trinity Guy had caught the attention of the Spokesman of the Nigerian Police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who requested his arrest over a recent prank video where he scared passersby with ‘gunshots’

In that particular skit, Trinity Guy feigned he was under attack from gunmen.

Unaware it was a prank, passers-by were seen scampering for safety from the supposed attack.

The video generated outrage on social media, with many people calling out the comedian for the “extreme prank”.

In the prank involving the small female minor, the skit maker was seen asking a visibly scared little girl to tell him the colour of his private part.

The video has been drawing massive condemnation on social media.

Retweeting the video, Adejobi called for the arrest of Trinity Guy, saying he should be detained and charged in court.

The force image maker had previously warned skit makers who use pranks for a living to regulate them because they endanger Nigerian lives.

In the heat of developments, Trinity Guy spoke up on the demand for his arrest by Adejobi.

In a new video posted on Facebook, the skit maker expressed gratitude to his followers and also appreciated Adejobi for his fatherly role in calling pranksters who go overboard with their craft to order.

According to reports, this is not the first time a Nigerian skit maker has gotten into trouble over an extreme or life-threatening prank. In August 2022, Eyinatayo Iluyomade, a 19-year-old Lagos-based comedian, was arrested and charged to court for an expensive joke.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that a fake senator, Ifechukwu Tom Makwe has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commisison (EFCC) for alleged €5.7million (Five Million, Seven Hundred Thousand euros) internet fraud.
