Kah-Lo Joins Diplo & Blond:ish On Effervescent New Track, ‘Give Dem’

Back in 2017, Nigerian rap sensation, Kah-Lo bagged herself a Grammy nomination for her work on Riton’s infectious “Rinse & Repeat”, a song which she says was inspired by the hustle and bustle that characterises Christmas in Lagos.

Now, for Diplo‘s latest offering, which also features female producer, Blond:ish, Kah-Lo tips her hat to Nigeria‘s festive culture once more, vocalising her pre-game preparations on “Give Dem” — a standout off Diplo’s Higher Ground EP.

On “Give Dem”, Kah-Lo’s takes a back seat, letting the production work of Diplo and Blond:ish’s Vive-Ann shine. The first 30 seconds of the track is purely drum and bass, with Kah-Lo’s vocals teased in through echos of her chanting “oya give dem”.

Through the track, Kah-Lo asks her squad what the vibe for the night is, offering up her home for the pre-drinks soirée. Although the track’s biggest draw is its production work, Kah-Lo does a solid job of uplifting it all with her signature monotone delivery.
