Victor Osimhen was included in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week as compiled by whoscored.com.

Osimhen made his debut for Turkish giants Galatasaray in their 5-0 win against Rizespor at the weekend.

The reigning CAF Player of the Year marked his debut with an assist for his club’s second goal on 25 minutes.

He came close to scoring in the first half when he met a cross with a powerful header, but his teammate Abdülkerim Bardakcı applied the final touch, turning Osimhen’s goal-bound effort to an assist.

Osimhen, who had seven shots on goal on his debut, a record in a Super Lig match this season, is one of four Galatasaray players who were included in the Gameweek 5 best 11.

Aside from the assist, Osimhen completed eight of the nine passes he attempted, giving him a passing efficiency of 73%, with two of those passes creating shooting opportunities.

Also, the 2022/23 Serie A winner had one shot on target, two shots off target, and four blocked attempts.

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will have to wait to make his second appearance for his new club Galatasaray following his debut with the Turkish Super Lig club last weekend.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has been ruled out of Galatasaray’s clash against Gaziantep FK on Tuesday owing to ineligibility reasons, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) confirmed.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Turkish side on loan this month after a transfer scuffle with Napoli, is not eligible to play for Galatasaray as the said game is a rescheduled matchday three fixture.

According to the TFF, his transfer hadn’t been completed as at the time the match was initially supposed to take place as the game was originally postponed due to Galatasaray’s involvement in the UEFA Champions League playoffs against Swiss club Young Boys.
