Blackburn Rovers Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been included in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week, Completesports.com reports.
The Sky Bet Championship announced Adarabioyo’s inclusion on their verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Manchester City defender who is on loan to Blackburn, made the list following his impressive performance in his side’s 3-1 home win against Bristol City on Saturday.
Adarabioyo marked his display by getting on the score sheet, netting Blackburn’s second goal to put them 2-1 ahead.
The goal was his third in 28 Championship appearances for Blackburn this season.
The win against Bristol City moved Blackburn to eight position on 56 points and are just a point off sixth place which is Premier League promotion play-off spot.
Adarabioyo joined the youth system at
Manchester City aged five and made his U18 debut for the club aged 14 and was captaining the U18s aged 16.
On 21 February 2016, Adarabioyo made his first-team debut in an FA Cup match against Chelsea and made his Champions League debut on 24 August 2016 as a substitute in a 1–0 win over Steaua București , in a Champions League play-off round match.
He joined West Bromwich Albion on
loan for the 2018–19 season and on July 2019, he joined Blackburn on loan for the 2019–20 season.
He scored his first career goal in 2 November in a 2–1 win for Blackburn against Sheffield Wednesday.
Adarabioyo has represented England up to U19 but still qualifies to represent Nigeria as he is yet to feature for England in any senior competitive game.
