COVID-19 Lockdown: “Pay Us Via BVN” – Nigerians Tells President Buhari

Nigerians have taken to sociL media to call on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to pay palliatives via BVN following the extension of the coronavirus lockdown in some states.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari had during a national broadcast on Monday extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja by another 14 days.

Buhari said that the decision was taken in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus disease in the country.

Following the extension, some Nigerians took to their social media pages, asking that each person should receive at least N20,000 from all the billion naira donations.

I’ve never seen a government more fraudulent and shameless as the FG of Nigeria.

How can you lockdown 3 states and be sharing money in states that aren’t on lockdown?

BVN is basically to address identity theft. According to NISS, 38.5 million accounts has BVN identity as at 2019 which means there’s a database… If Namibia is said to pay their citizens ‘reliefs’ for COVID19 through their bank accounts, why can’t the Nigerian govt #PayusviaBVN?

Government introduced a Cashless policy and also initiated Verification of account number through BVN to curb criminality and corruption, but now,the govt av decided that paying through BVN is too transparent for them.
