Lagos expands interventionist role in fight against coronavirus

Lagos State government in Saturday expanded the interventionist roles of the state in promoting good health of residents while fighting the spread of coronavirus. The expanded interventionist roles further increase the palliatives the state government is providing the alleviate the hardship people are facing ion the period of lockdown. Accordingly, Lagos State would be providing free medical services to pregnant women and residents who have health emergency health cases.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at a media briefing on Saturday, explained that the additional free health services are to increase palliatives to mitigate the hardship encountered during the lockdown of the state in the fight to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the death of another patient as well as the patient discharged on Saturday from one of the isolation centres in the state.
