A man in Bomadi, a community in Delta State has blamed himself for the unworthy death of his daughter who was ganged raped and murdered by some unknown gunmen in the early hours of Monday, March 23.
Elder Wuduowei, the father of the assaulted girl (name withheld) for security reasons, disclosed that some yet to be identified gunmen forced their way into his apartment, assaulted his daughter and killed her.
According to Wuduowei, he had left his daughter at home to check on his dear wife who is on hospital bed receiving treatment.
He said that his daughter attempted to reach out to him while the gunmen were trying to access the house but that he took it lightly by not informing the security operatives of the incident on time.
He said,”My delay in reaching out to security operatives led to her untimely death. Armed robbers attacked my house when I was not around and my daughter tried to reach me to alert me.
“I was in the hospital because my wife is in labour before I could reach the head of vigilantes who accompanied me down it was already late. We saw her body cold after we saw signs of her being violated by the hoodlums.”
However, efforts to get confirmation of the incident from the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa by newsmen at this time prove abortive as he is yet to respond to the calls.
Meanwhile, in other news a few days ago, Naija News reported that Police in Plateau State arrested a man for raping his 6-year-old daughter.
