Melancholy In Kano As Dangote Truck Kills Four Family Members

It was a sad mood in Kano on Sunday when a truck belonging to one of the business concerns of Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, rammed into a bike conveying a family of five, killing four.

247ureports.com gathered that the fatal accident occurred at Gaida Road, linking   Sharada Industrial Area with Chalawa Industrial Layout.

The man, 40-year old Muhammad Sagir was said to be  traveling on a motorbike with his wife,  and three children when the truck crushed them.

While one of the children survived, Muhammad died with his wife and two other children .

The spokesman of Kano state Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa,  confirmed the incident.

He said five victims were evacuated from the site of the incident and taken to Murtala Muhammad Hospital,  adding that, “the man,  his wife,  two children died,  while one escaped unhurt. “

He said the police has launched a manhunt for the  truck driver who took to his heels, immediately after the ugly incident, adding that, “the truck has been moved and detained at the police headquarter at Bompai. Investigation is still ongoing as we continue our search for the truck driver.”
