Yesterday, Beats1 Radio host, Ebro sat down with Davido, and the two were caught cheering on Nigeria‘s alternative music scene.

Ebro has been a champion of the thriving movement for a while now. Late last year, he premiered Santi’s hit single, “Rapid Fire”, and he’s now done the same for Nonso Amadi‘s first official single of the year, “Emergency”.

“Emergency” is a highlife-influenced bop with a spirited beat that immediately makes you want to get up and dance. As usual, Nonso Amadi plays the lover boy, this time lamenting that we only have one life to live, so we should fill it with as much love as we can.

On Ebro’s Instagram story, Nonso Amadi tells fans that this bop is inspired by the afropop gems coming out of the continent right now. His aim, as a Nigerian artist based overseas, is to push African music internationally, and “Emergency” is certainly an impressive effort on his part.
