From a solo track on Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift to the success of his career-best album, African Giant, 2019 has really been Burna Boy‘s year. Given this, it comes as no surprise that the legendary Elton John is also a fan of the fast-rising afro-fusion star.

During Elton John’s Apple Music segment, Rocket Hour, where he shares all the songs he’s loving, Burna Boy’s “Anybody” happened to make the cut. As you can imagine, being recognised by one of the most celebrated musicians of all time, made Burna Boy feel extremely proud.
In an Instagram video showing his reaction to this, Burna Boy said:
“Nobody can tell me rubbish again, I don blow.”
Burna Boy’s press run following the release of African Giant has been nothing short of monumental. After an interview with The Breakfast Club, performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live and appearing on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, he’s clearly hot on everyone’s radar, and we couldn’t be happier.
