
Son of the Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, has been re-elected for another term of four years to represent AFIJIO, Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West federal constituency.
The 42-year old defeated his biological brother, Prince AbdulFatai Adeyemi and two former House of Representatives’ members , Hon. Kameel Akinlabi and Hon. Moroof Akinwande to win the seat.
The story was not the same for his colleagues like Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, Hon. Abiodun Awoleye, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, Hon. Olasupo Abiodun and Hon. Sunbo Olugbemi as they lost their bid to return to the House of Representatives for another term
Akinade-Fijabi of the All Progressives Congress, APC, lost to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Dhikrullah Olajide, Adepoju of African Democratic Congress, ADC, lost to PDP’s Yemi Taiwo; Awoleye of Accord lost to APC’s Musliudeen Akinremi; Ogunwuyi of PDP lost to Captain Ajao of Action Democratic Party, ADP, Lam-Adesina of ADC lost to PDP’s Abass Agboworin; Abiodun of ADC lost to Shina Peller of APC while Olugbemi of APC lost to Tolu Shadipe of APC.
According to the result, the APC won 9 out of the 14 House of Representatives seats leaving PDP with 4 and ADP with one.
