Mr Eazi has not taken a break since the release of his fantastic 2018 mixtape, Life Is Eazi Vol 2, and we are glad. Now, he’s teamed up with up-and-coming rapper, Kwesi Arthur and popular Ghanaian DJ, GuiltyBeatz for a catchy new dance song, “Pilolo“.

“Pilolo” is a part of Mr Eazi’s ongoing emPawa initiative, where he’s aiming to fund 100 emerging African artists. The song sees Eazi and Kwesi Arthur lending their vocals to a blend of afropop rhythms and electronic beats produced by GuiltyBeatz (“Akwaaba”).

Save for the title of the song, which means “hide and seek”, the lyrics and overall subject matter are pretty unclear — since most of it is performed in twi. Thankfully, that doesn’t stop the track from being utterly engaging and infectious.

The accompanying animated video does give us an idea as to what the song might be about, as it sees each artist running away from the authorities throughout the clip. It then ends with GuiltyBeatz starting a party in the courtroom.
