Sade Olatoye narrowly lost the African title in women’s Hammer after winning silver medal at the African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon.
Olatoye had thrown 67.72m and led with that, but Algeria’s Zahra Tatar threw 67.82m to snatch the victory.
With her Silver medal in the Hammer she has now won three medals for Nigeria this year: two in Ghana in shot Put hammer.
Nigeria’s Edose Ibadin will be competing in the final of men’s 800m at the African Championships, after securing an automatic qualification from his heat on Saturday.
Ibadin timed his kick to perfection, accelerating in the last 50m to move from fifth to second place in a time of 1:47.65.
The race was won by Botswana’s Kethobogile Hainguira in a time of 1:46.86.
