Listen To Omawumi’s Brilliant New Project, ‘In Her Feelings’

Over the course of this month, Omawumi has been gearing fans up for the release of her latest album, In Her Feelings. Well, the project is finally here, and the seven-track offering allows one of Nigeria’s strongest singers to flaunt her superb vocals and solid lyricism.

In Her Feelings opens with the jazzy lead single, “Without You”, an upbeat tune which sets the pace for much of the project. Following “Without You” is the second single off the LP, “For My Baby”, a vibrant jam that standouts as the project’s strongest track.

The project finds Omawumi tackling a wide range of subjects, from encouraging fans through financial distress (“Away”), to warning us that although things might seem great from another perspective, we never know what is lurking in the shadows (“Green Grass”).

While the tape is stacked with lively jams — six out of seven co-produced by Omawumi herself — the versatile star does slow down the pace for the album closer, “Green Grass”, as well as “True Loving”, a vulnerable song that’s delivered with tear-jerking passion.

Overall, Omawumi soars on this project – excelling as a singer, a producer and a songwriter – but considering that she is one of the most talented Nigerian artists working today, that’s exactly what we expected from the vocal powerhouse.
