Afrobeats legend, Fela Kuti’s daughter, Yeni Kuti has said her father was ill, disillusioned about his country and he didn’t die happy.
Yeni stated this in an interview with media personality, Chude.
Chude posted the video of the interview on Instagram on Tuesday.
In the interview, she said, “I think he was really disillusioned with Nigeria at the time that he died. A lot of things that he sang against were actually happening.
“And sometimes I think, it’s even better he died then, cause if he didn’t die then, he would have died now. So, I don’t think he died happy. ‘Cause he actually lived for his country.
“Fela had the opportunity to live anywhere in the world, but he didn’t. He chose to live here. That’s one thing I love my family for. We all choose to live here cause this is home. Nowhere else is home.”
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday, stormed the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and prevented officials of the commission from gaining access to their office in the Ikoyi area of the state.
