Former President, Goodluck Jonathan led the ECOWAS monitoring team to visit the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Present at the meeting on Tuesday is the former President of South Africa and leader of the Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria (COMN), Thabo Mbeki; former President of Ghana, John Mahama and former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, among other APC chieftains.
The APC’s presidential candidate is leading in the race to become Nigeria’s next president after President Muhammadu Buhari.
The ECOWAS team also met with Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ECOWAS team appealed for calm in the country while calling on INEC to address the concerns and procedural questions raised so far by different stakeholders.
