Over the weekend, Nigerian-American rapper, Tyler Okonma (aka Tyler, The Creator) released his fantastic studio album, IGOR. One of our faves off the project was the Playboi Carti-assisted, “EARFQUAKE“, which the rapper has now released a weird and wonderful video for.
It might even be fair to call “EARFQUAKE” the best song off the project, and that’s thanks to Playboi Carti’s fire verse, as well as Tyler’s quirky singing. On the track, Tyler sings about a lover who he hasn’t really treated well in the past but still happens to depend on.
For the accompanying video, Tyler enlists Emmy-nominated Black-ish star, Tracee Ellis Ross. She plays a talk show host, who has brought Tyler on to perform, and what begins as a flashy performance eventually goes up in flames — only to be extinguished by Tyler, as a firefighter.
