Last year, Red TV pleased fans when they released the first season of their drama series, The Men’s Club, which aimed to mirror the scandalous lives of Lagos‘ elite. Now, they’ve released a trailer for the series’ sophomore season, and it looks like it’s about to be even more dramatic.
Directed by Tola Odunsi, and penned by Skinny Girl In Transit writer, Dami Elebe, The Men’s Club follows the lives of four friends and their several escapades, ranging from romantic relationships to their various businesses.
While the first season claimed to debunk myths about toxic masculinity, all it did was enable the characters’ bad actions. The trailer for the new season, however, seems to tackle things a bit differently, suggesting some growth for each character.
This season seems to be centred around one of the friends, Tayo, who finds out in the last season that his wife has been cheating on him with his brother. In reaction to this, he goes on a bender, numbing his pain with alcohol and sex.
The first season of The Men’s Club was a true guilty pleasure, and from the look of things, the second season won’t be any different. While no release date has been announced, we’re expecting the first episode to drop any time soon.
