President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his sympathies to the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, as well as the entire Christendom, on the death of Rev. Wilson Badejo, the former General Overseer, who died at the age of 74.

Mr Femi Adesina, the president’s spokesman, described the deceased as “a faithful servant of God who led the Foursquare Gospel Church for ten years” in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.”

He noted that the deceased was ”committed to standing in the gap for not just his organization, but Nigeria as a whole.”

Buhari prayed that God would comfort the entire Badejo family.

He urged the family to take solace in the fact that their father, a veterinary doctor, author, cleric, and public speaker, set a standard to be emulated by all and sundry.

NEWS DIRECT had earlier reported that Badejo died at the age of 74 following a brief illness.

Badejo was the Foursquare gospel church’s General Overseer between 1999 and 2009.
