The fake lawyer arrested by the police

A fake female lawyer has been apprehended by the police in Imo state.

The woman has been identified as Mrs Princess Kate Nneoma Duruji “F”, age 37 Years of Akakkims Palace Orji Owerri, lmo state.

A statement released by CSP Michael Abattam, spokesperson of the state police command today July 7, states that the suspect who has been parading herself as a lawyer to unsuspecting victims was formally arrested on July 5 when she falsely presented herself before the police as a barrister at law.

When she was interrogated, the suspect confessed to the crime which led to the recovery of a lawyer’s wig conspicuously displayed on the dashboard of her Toyota Camry car with registration number ABUJA ABC 460 GG. Abattam said an investigation is still ongoing and as soon as it is concluded, she will be arraigned in court.  

Abattam added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, has appealed to the good people of Imo State to be wary of fake lawyers and advice them to ensure that they approach genuine solicitors and advocates. He added that the police boss has also warned those whose stock in trade is to go about impersonating lawyers to desist from such act as anyone found complicit will be arrested and prosecuted forthwith.
