A few weeks ago, Lady Donli tweeted a video announcing that she’d be releasing her first single of 2019, “Cash”, off her upcoming album, Enjoy Your Life,
In the video, Donli invited her fans to join in the song’s hype by sporting the hashtag, #ImAddictedToCash on social media. After scores of tweets illustrating our collective love of money, Donli has finally released “Cash”, and it’s already our new favourite secured-the-bag anthem.
Produced by Benjamin James and Kingsley ‘Knote’ Okorie of The Cavemen, as well as Lady Donli herself, “Cash” is an incredibly energetic jam, fit for prayerful meditation over your financial status, but also ripe for celebrating all your monetary wins.
On the track, Lady Donli expresses her addiction to cash, admitting that her hard work is all for the fame and the money. Donli does want to grow, as a musician and as a person, but most importantly, she wants to grow in wealth too.
Utterly arresting from start to finish, “Cash” is somewhat of a musical masterpiece, with The Cavemen pulling off an incredible instrumental performance and Lady Donli being as phenomenal, both vocally and lyrically, as she always is.
