Straffitti first caught our attention when he appeared on M.I.’s star-studded playlist, Rendezvous — a project that aimed to highlight the increasing diversity in Nigeria‘s music industry.
Unfortunately, Straffitti still hasn’t managed to garner the attention he clearly deserves. This injustice is one the talented rapper hopes to rectify, as he enlists an eclectic mix of stars — Zlatan, Ice Prince and Prettboy D-O — for his latest single, “Kuronbe”.
Thanks to some seriously savvy production work from Johnson IP and GCL3F, “Kuronbe” boasts an attention-grabbing beat that lays a solid foundation for these four very different rappers to fire off their semi-aggressive bars.
On “Kuronbe”, Straffitti, joined by D-O, Ice Prince and Zlatan, asks that he be left alone to enjoy his life. Unless it has to do with money or enjoyment, Straffitti wants no part of it — sentiments that are reiterated by the other rappers,
While everyone on the track delivers in their own unique way, D-O ends up shining the brightest, giving credence to the verse where he states that he is not one to be trifled with. Overall, “Kuronbe” is an impressive hip-hop record that deserves attention.
