Minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Pantami, has been asked to resign. The call was made by Ndudi Elumelu.
Elumelu who is the minority leader of the House of Representatives urged the green chamber to demand his resignation or sack, Punch reports.
He said this should be done following the minister’s alleged backing of activities of Jihadist leaders and deadly Islamic sects.
The point of order was made by the lawmaker at the plenary on Wednesday, April 21.
However, the order was struck down immediately by the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, The Cable added.

Gbajabiamila, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the same party as the embattled minister, overruled the minority leader.
He said the matter being raised had nothing to do with his privilege as a lawmaker.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Samson Ayokunle, urged relevant security agencies to investigate the recent allegations against Pantami.
Pantami has been under pressure to resign after his controversial Islamic teachings linking him to terror groups surfaced.
The minister later admitted making the comments but blamed immaturity and limited knowledge for his views back then.
Recall that a civil society group, Concerned Nigerians, on Monday, April 19, urged the DSS to recommend the sacking of Pantami to President Muhammadu Buhari.
CAN President: Allegations against Pantami should not be taken with levity
The convener of the group, Prince Deji Adeyanju, made the recommendation in a letter addressed to the director-general of the DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
Also, a chieftain of APC, Cletus Obun, has called for the sack or resignation of Pantami.
Obun made the call on Monday, April 19, while speaking during a breakfast programme on the African Independent Television.
