Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Tuesday begged the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, to pray for the state government and for peace in the state. The governor took advantage of the visit of Pastor Adeboye to the eight freed RCCG members by kidnappers who had held them hostage since March 26.
Pastor Adeboye had prayed for the Redeemed members who he described as his children and laid hands on others who were sick before he got the request of the governor to visit Government House.
Pastor Adeboye in a broadcast on his facebook page on Tuesday declared: “Earlier today, I decided to go out of my schedule to see my children who God delivered from the den of the kidnappers while they were on their way to the venue of the Let’s Go A Fishing Exercise. To the glory of God, they are Hale and Hearty.
“Before leaving, The Governor appealed to me to visit the State House in Kaduna to pray for the state, its people and its leadership for peace and protection after laying hands on my Children who were sick. “It is my prayer that the peace of, and kingdom of God will be established in Kaduna State and our nation, Nigeria and all locations where the children of God are across the world in JESUS name. (AMEN). Have a blessed day. EAA.”
Governor El-Rufai also celebrated Pastor Adeboye’s visit to the Government House, Kaduna on his Twitter handle.
The eight RCCG members that regained freedom were kidnapped on March 26 by bandits in Kaduna State.
There were indications that Governor El-Rufai is beginning to see the imperatives of eradicating religion extremism and inter-religious animosity in the country.
