Since last year, WulrD fans have been anxiously awaiting a project from the gifted singer. Well, he has finally unveiled his debut body of work, Love Is Contagious, and the fascinating nine-track release was well worth the wait.

Prior to its release, we’d heard a good chunk of the project, so our expectations were high. WurlD doesn’t disappoint, augmenting the impressive singles that came before — “Paranoid”, “Wishes & Butterflies” and the rest — with other wonderful tracks, such as “Gbemisoke” and “So Good”.

Love Is Contagious is a conversational EP that takes us through the motions of being in love.  As such, the project explores a variety of moods and emotions — from the bright and enticing opener, “Show You Off”, to the moody and powerful penultimate track, “Drown”.

WurlD signs off with a gratifying conclusion to the tumultuous love story told throughout the EP: The chirpy Mike Best-produced finale, “So Good”, upon which WurlD is blessed with a new lease of life because his lover has finally chosen him.

For the production, WurlD places his trust in Swerve, Leriq, Mike Best and the talented Shizzi — the last of which produced six out of the EP’s nine tracks. These producers all deliver WurlD’s signature afro-juju/pop sound in unique and distinct ways, making for a coherent yet diverse offering.
