Yesterday, the rising star behind last year’s unofficial World Cup anthem — “Issa Goal” featuring Olamide and Lil Kesh — challenged his Instagram followers to drop 5,000 comments before he released his latest track.
With rising sensation, Zlatan named as the featured artist on the track, it is no surprise that Naira Marley‘s followers lit up the photo’s comments, prompting him to release “Illuminati”.
Produced by Rexxie, “Illuminati” is an up-tempo bop, upon which both Naira Marley and Zlatan confidently assert that they are unrivaled in every aspect. The pair then go on to reference the wealthy members of the Illuminati as their tax-bracket peers.
The chorus, which is easily the song’s best part, lets us know that these rising artists are hustling not just for their own personal gain, but for the benefit of the people — and entities — they love: Their fam, their gang, their streets and their country.
