The World Players Body, Federation of International Football Professionals (Fifpro) has written to the Nigeria Players Union, National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) precisely on the 14th of March 2019, requesting the Nigeria players Union to intervene on a case of a Nigeria Player, Lukeman Azzez plying his trade in Jordan , since there is no players Union in Jordan, National Daily learnt.
According to Fifpro, ” we have received an email from a Nigerian Player who is having problems with his club in Jordan, as Fifpro does not have a player union in Jordan, we therefore request NANPF to contact the player and hear if you can offer any support or advice to Azeez ”
The player’s complaint to Fifpro forwarded to NANPF titled: “claims to unpaidsalary reads, ” I Lukeman Azeez, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to lay a claim against my football club, Al Wehda club of Jordan in the Jordanian Division one League.
Since the signature of my contract with the club, I am yet to receive a single penny from the club. The club has refused to meet the contractual terms I signed. Attached here are documents and proofs to enable you process my request. Please, I would like your organization to assist me in retrieving all my incentives from the club. I would be highly grateful if my request is treated with utmost urgency. ”
The Nigeria Players Union, NANPF has already contacted the Player and gotten all the relevant documents to enable it pursue the rights of Azeez.
