Chelsea Winger Willian says he would be “fine” with moving to either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur after the expiration of his Blues contract.

Willian’s Stamford Bridge deal runs out on June 30, and he is set to be one of the Premier League players who could have to sign a short-term deal in order to play in the remainder of the delayed 2019/20 season.

There is little sign that he will remain at Chelsea for the 2020/21 season though.

And addressing reports linking him with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham during an interview with Brazilian YouTube channel Desimpedidos, Willian said: “It really is a hard decision,” he said. “I identified myself a lot at Chelsea, I have a lot of love for everyone at the club, and the fans.

“However, it is like I said before, if I leave Chelsea with no trouble and leaving the doors open, it would be fine to move to a rival club.”

When asked if he’d like to stay in London, he added: “I don’t know. I like London and so does my family.

“However, this is a question that I still don’t know the answer, if I will stay at Chelsea, move to another team from London, or leave England.”

Willian also denied suggestions that his former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had been in touch over a move to Spurs.

“No, no. I did not get anything from Mourinho even though I have a good relationship with him,” he said.

“He is not only a great coach but also a great friend of mine. Sometimes we talk but regarding this situation, he totally respects it.

“I identified myself more with Mourinho [that other managers] for sure. He trusted in my potential, liked my football, gave me full confidence to play. He is the best coach I have worked with.”

Also, he was also quizzed about a supposed hint he dropped over a move to Arsenal on social media, where his family were all pictured wearing red.

“There was no intention in creating rumours,” he insisted.

“In England, we do not have this situation [like Brazil] where a player from Corinthians can’t wear green or a player from Palmeiras can’t wear black and white, this kind of stuff.

“So there was one day when my wife and kids dressed in red and she did not think it would create any rumours, there was nothing in it.”
