After finally recovering from a serious knee injury, Eintracht Frankfurt’s resourceful right-back Timothy Chandler played in the past six games and scored important goals, one securing the Eagles a 2-1 victory over TSG Hoffenheim and another one in a thrilling 1-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
In this week’s interview, the 29-year-old USA international shares his advice to young players and his own goals.
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
“I just enjoy the time with the guys on the pitch and that’s the most important thing, to stay healthy and to play good for Eintracht Frankfurt. This season it’s very close in the Bundesliga. If you lose one or two games you can go down, you can go up.

“It’s very close this year, on the top and on the bottom. For every team every game is important, that’s why we have to work in every game for every point and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”
What are your goals for the future?
“For me the important thing is to stay healthy and play as many games as I can for Eintracht Frankfurt. The future of Eintracht Frankfurt is very important to me, that they stay in the Bundesliga a lot of years, maybe play international some more years and these are the most important things for the future.”
Can you give some advice for young players out there?
“This is a difficult question. For me, it was always an important thing that I have fun in my job. I don’t want to do anything with pressure, or pressure from outside or pressure from the parents or something. If you want to do this job, enjoy it, go training every day, focus 100% and go home happy and wake up the next day and go to training and be happy. Because if you’re not happy in this job, don’t do it.”
