Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi was sent off in West Bromwich Albion’s 1-0 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday, in the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup, Completesports.com reports.
Ajayi was given the matching order by the referee for a second yellow card in the 72nd minute.
Despite Ajayi’s sending off, West Brom held on to secure their passage into the next round of the competition.
Conor Townsend was the hero for West Brom as his ninth minute goal sealed the hard-fought win for his side.

At St Mary’s, Southampton snatched a late goal in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur to force a replay.
After a goalless first half, Heung-Min Son eventually broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Sofiane Boufal equalised on 87 minutes.
And in other results, Norwich beat Burnley 2-1 away, Newcastle United were held to a 0-0 home draw by Oxford United, Sheffield United beat Millwall 2-0 away, Portsmouth defeated visiting Barnsley 4-2 and Reading were held 1-1 at home by Cardiff City.
In the first fixture of the day, Leicester City pipped Brentford 1-0 thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho’s first half goal.
