CAF Salutes Flying Eagles After Win Over Tunisia

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have saluted the Flying Eagles of Nigeria following their victory over Tunisia to win the Bronze Medal at the 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

The Flying Eagles walloped Tunisia 4-0 on Friday March 8 at the Cairo International Stadium.

Ibrahim Muhammad scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute and Ahmed Abdullahi made it 2-0 in the 46th minute.

Jude Sunday scored a brace to seal the victory for the Nigerian team.

This is Nigeria’s third time of winning the bronze medal at the tournament.

CAF hailed the Nigerian U-20 team on Twitter.

“NIGERIA ACHIEVE A PODIUM FINISH The Flying Eagles are the #TotakEnergiesAFCONU20 bronze medalists for the third time,” the Tweet reads

The final will be between Senegal and Gambia on Saturday March 9 at the Cairo International Stadium.

All four semi-finalists qualified for the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup which will take place in Indonesia between May 20 and June 11.
