Former Nigerian midfielder, Henry Nwosu says he’s confident the Super Falcons will bounce back to winning ways despite losing 2-1 to South Africa in its opening Group C game at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Quickfire goals from Jermaine Seoposenwe just after the hour mark and another from Hildah Tholakele Magaia barely two minutes after saw Bayana Bayana cruising to another sweet victory over the Super Falcons.
Though Rasheedat Ajibade pulled one back for Nigeria in stoppage time, it wasn’t enough to earn Randy Waldrum’s side a share of the spoils.

Reacting to the game, Nwosu in a chat with Completesports.com stated that the Super Falcons will qualify from their group despite losing to South Africa.
He noted that the team will bounce back to winning ways when they face Bostwana in their second group C game.
“Losing to South Africa may be consider unacceptable considering the array of talents in our disposal. However, the defeat will only help the team to identify their errors and work hard to make amends.
“I am optimistic they will bounce back to winning ways in their next fixture against Bostwana.”
Cup holders Nigeria must gain all three points against Botswana in their second match of the competition on Thursday to revive their campaign.
