Niger State: Villagers Happy As ‘Brave Men’ Chase Bandits Out

The people of Mahundo village in Mariga LG, were full of joy after the brave men that make up the joint security forces in Niger state flushed out bandits that invaded the village where reports indicated that the criminals held abductees.

Mahundo—is a village with over 1000 houses and largely occupied by farmers forced to move from their ancestral home for over 2yrs by bandits and created routes for only motorcycles. After crossing 2 rivers which is about 16km from the nearby village. The village could be said to be very close to a large forest.

The fresh offensive by security agents has seen the bandits flee from virtually all the territories.

Governor Abu Sani Bello was, this morning at the village to appreciate the effort of the security agents, and to offer moral support. He thanked them all, including members of the vigilante corps, for a job well done.

His Excellency was especially pleased with the event and emphasized the commitment of the Niger State Government to the restoration of peace and security in the troubled areas of the state.

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh Ahmed Matane, his Chief of Staff, Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara , senior government officials and heads of security agencies in the state.
