Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, an Islamic scholar, has expressed his displeasure over the massacre of 22 Muslims in Jos, Plateau State.
On Sunday, 22 Muslim faithful on their way back from the ‘Annual Zikr prayers’ in Bauchi State were attacked by hoodlums in Jos.
Sheikh Dahiru Usman, one of the heads of the Tijaniyyah Islamic Sufi sect in Nigeria, called the deaths “wicked” and vowed his group will pursue legal action against those responsible.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, speaking to the BBC in Kaduna and monitored by DAILY POST, urged Muslims to be patient and not to take laws into their own hands, stating, “We will follow the administration until we see where they will stop.”
He asked that the families of those deceased receive full recompense, and he encouraged the government to prosecute the culprits apprehended in connection with the incident.
